Vijay Parmar

Managing Trustee

A contributor in human rights quest for Dalits and underprivileged. A passionate humanitarian and a dedicated development professional. He was instrumental in designing and setting up Peoples Organizations, womens savings & credit cooperatives, CBOs and NGOs. Since 2000 he is associated with Janvikas – HIDRC in different capacities.He is associated with Janvikas – HIDRC in different capacities. He took the mettle of Janvikas in 2007 as CEO and over the years played key role in strengthening Janvikas and its institutional field across the country. His continued to support large number of POs, CBOs, NGOs working on the issues of caste, communal and ethnic discrimination, youth, livelihood and governance in small NGOs. Currently he is Managing Trustee of Janvikas.


Kirti Joshi

Chief Executive Officer

Kirti Joshi is currently serving as the CEO of Janvikas. Joshi lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts for 18 years and for the last five years has been living in India. Her vast experience spanning more than 25 years in social development sector is mainly in the area of women empowerment, healthcare and education. After completing her first masters in India. Ms Kirti Joshi pursued her Master of Science in Leadership Management with specialization in healthcare management from Northeastern University, Boston. In between her two Master Degrees, she worked for CARE-International,  N D Lea International Ltd - Canada as a consultant for the World Bank funded projects in India, Gujarat Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Lahey Health - Boston, Head- Hospital Operations, Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, CEO Project Life to name a few organisations.


Brinda Pancholi

Consultant - Garima Programme

Brinda Pancholi has been associated with Janvikas since 2003 as part of the Human and Institutional Development Resource Center (HIDRC). Her work primarily has been around strengthening grassroot organizations and leaders working for the rights and entitlements of Dalits, with a specific focus on Valmikis (scavenging community). She has played an instrumental role in promoting and strengthening Manav Garima, a People’s Organization of Valmiki community and Valmiki Vikas Savings & Credit Cooperative Society in Ahmedabad city. Her role in HIDRC also involved building capacities of youth, women and leaders from marginalized communities along with developing & strengthening systems, procedures, policies, structures and leadership in different civil society organizations. Outside Janvikas, she works as external member in Complaints Committee for POSH, advisory role to the governing board and mentoring senior leaders in CSOs. She has also contributed in designing and facilitating long term capacity building programs like Organizational Change Facilitation Programme and HID Leadership Programme with HID Forum, Bangalore. 


Sejal Dave

HID Professional

Ms. Sejal Dave is a Development Professional, currently engaged with Janvikas, a Civil Society Organization exists to strengthen just, democratic and secular society. She is done masters in Extension & Communication – Home Science from MS University- Vadodara. She has earlier worked and is associated with a state level network, Working Group for Women and Land Ownership - WGWLO that promotes women’s land rights in the state of Gujarat and has undergone grass-root based learning to advocate for the resource rights based recommendations with the state machinery. She co-led a feminist organization, ANANDI – Area Networking and Development Initiatives in Gujarat and has been a gender trainer and women’s rights trainer. She has also worked with Unnati on the issues of social inclusion and social accountability, and conducted social audits for the MGNREGS in Gujarat and has worked with the migrant labours at destination and source by associating with Rajasthan based NGO - Aajeevika Bureau. 

Sejal’s passion is to bring about desired change in the lives of women from the marginalized section and create inclusive spaces for citizens to be sensitive and co-create spaces for dialogues, exchanges and innovation.


Jitendra Rathod

Programme Leader - Garima & Urban Initiative

Jitendra Rathod is a Human Rights activist and Human and Institutional Development (HID) expert. Jitendra pursued his master degree (MA) in English Literature and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). After completing his study, he preferred to work in social sector since 2006. His professional journey started from being a State Secretary of Gujarat Chapter of National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), a national level movement in 2006. Since 2009, he is associated with Janvikas in different capacities. Earlier, he had worked on youth development and conflict transformation. Currently, he is a Senior Program Leader in Janvikas and leads two programs on Eradication of Manual Scavenging and Urban Initiative. He also provides HID support to CBOs, POs of marginalized communities.  His role profile in Janvikas includes promoting & strengthening Community Based Organization (CBOs) and Peoples Organization (POs) of urban poor, scavenging community and other marginalized communities to access rights and overall development of these communities.


Smita Raj

Governance Officer

Smita has been working with Janvikas since 2012 and entails a total of 12 years of experience in the development sector. She has done her post graduation from IIRM, Jaipur and graduation in English Litt. from Ranchi University. She also worked with Hindustan Times as Social Beat Journalist and Navbharat Ranchi Kendra as Training Coordinator. She has been influential in managing governance and HR proceedings at Janvikas.

Janisar Shaikh

Programme Leader - Udaan

Janisar Shaikh has completed his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). He is expert in Right to Education, Right to Information, Government Schemes and Community Based Organisation. His journey with Janvikas started in 2007. From 2007 to 2015 He had worked with Internal Displaced People (IDP) in Anand district. Since 2015 he leads Udaan programme of Janvikas.

Manisha Patel

Programme Leader - Swasthyalay

Manisha: Ms. Manisha Patel has done her graduation in B.Sc. (Chemistry) and Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science from M.S. University, Baroda. She has varied experience in working with environmental consultancies. She has been involved with Paryavaran Mitra since 2012.  She has been multitasking in various tasks such as drafting environmental audit report, reviewing environmental impact assessment, documentation and reporting, analyzing policies and laws, and responsibility for setting up and coordinating lab work. Since 2017, Ms. Manisha Patel is also coordinating the Green Catalyst Program. Her role is to inspire the youth working or participating in the events of Green Catalyst. She develops leadership qualities, management and planning terminologies in the trainees. Her character and her presence have helped Green Catalyst to grow and develop and to lead a way to better society and environment.

Hemali Shah

Finance Manager

Hemali shah is a Chartered Accountant who has been heading the finance department of Janvikas. She has been associated with the institution for over 18 years and has been the backbone of financial events at the organization. She has keen interest in the development sector has dedicated her career to the same.

Ashish Macwan

Finance Officer

Ashish is working in the capacity of finance officer at Janvikas. He has completed his BSC. in Microbiology from Gujarat and MBA from CV Raman University. He is associated with Janvikas since 2000 and entails an extensive experience of 21 years in accounting for Non Governmental Orgnisations. 


Franklin Christian

MIS Offficer

Franklin has over 18 years of experience in the development sector as a researcher and technology troubleshooter. He has done his Diploma in Computer Application from Loyola Training Centre. He has been working with Janvikas in the capacity of MIS officer. His love for data analytics drives him to take analytical pursuit at the organisation. Earlier, he has worked with Sambodh Charitable Trust, SAATH, Sahyog and BSC in the capacity of research officer, project coordinator and more. He specialized in social science research and data analytics.  His technological instinct excites him to pursue interests associated with advanced data analytics and interaction with various communities. He has garnered a multidisciplinary mindset to handle project management and analytics in the development sector.

Arun Solanki


Arun is working with Janvikas in the capacity of an accountant. He has completed her B.Com from North Gujarat University and a degree in Law from GLS University, Ahmedabad. He has been associated with Janvikas for 20 years since 2000.


Sayanee Bhatt

Programme Anchor- NTL 

Sayanee is associated with Janvikas as Programme Anchor for the ambitious Driverben programme. She is a fundamental believer of modern feminism and has been actively involved in training women from underprivileged communities. She is associated with the organized for 3 years now. She has completed her graduation in Computer Science from Gujarat University. She actively engages in workshops and programmes involving women empowerment and skill development.


Aldrich David

Project Development Officer

Aldrich is a young development enthusiast with a background in management and automobile. He is working with Janvikas as Project Development Officer for U-Live programme. His profile entails a diverse experience of working in BFSI and automobile sector with ICICI and Volvo cars. His intellectual bent towards writing and management has empowered the organisation in writing case studies, proposals and at the same time, managing the ambitious Driver Ben programme. His interests are automobile and travelling. He aspires to become an interdisciplinary development professional.
